This planned touring Broadway performing arts center and office building in downtown Salt Lake City is an urban infill redevelopment of “Block 70” between Main Street and Regent Street at the gateway of the new City Creek Center mixed-use development.
The first phase of work is a strategic business plan, including physical program and site planning, operational programming, market analysis and governance options, construction cost estimates and schedule, financing options and fiscal and economic impact analysis.
Garfield Traub Swisher will use VCBO Architecture with support from Fischer Dachs Associates for theater programming and planning, Okland Construction Company for construction cost estimating and scheduling and AMS Planning & Research for market analysis.
The approximately 2,500-seat theater will be a state-of-the-art venue designed to accommodate the needs of today’s first-run touring Broadway productions, as well as popular music concerts, family shows, comedy acts, dance and possibly symphony and opera.
“The RDA Board was particularly impressed with Garfield Traub Swisher’s experience in Durham, NC. They had a unique track record in managing complex public/private partnerships with diverse stakeholders and interests at the table. I am confident Garfield Traub Swisher will serve the residents of Salt Lake City well.”
— Eric Jergensen, Chairman of the Board, Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City (“RDA”)
